Mathematics

Math courses are taught over two semesters. All students will study a compulsory Pre-Calculus course in semester one. Our Pre-Calculus course is unique because two methods of study are offered. Students can choose to study through our new online lecture course or through our traditional classroom-based lectures.  All students attend seminars in addition to lectures.

In semester two, students choose one of three Mathematics courses:

  • Statistics
  • Mathematics for Life Sciences
  • Mathematics for Physical Sciences

The choice depends on students’ NUFYP pathways and what a student intends to study as an undergraduate.

All of our courses provide students with a superior level of preparedness for their subsequent undergraduate studies. In addition to broadening one’s knowledge and understanding of Mathematics, one develops new skills and strategies in formulating and solving problems.
