The Nazarbayev University Foundation Program (NUFYP) is a division of the Center for Preparatory Studies. The NUFYP program prepares students for the academic, personal, and cultural challenges of undergraduate studies.

What is the purpose of the Foundation Program?

“To smooth the transition from today’s secondary schools … NU’s entering undergraduate students go through a one-year program to improve academic English and critical thinking and sharpen subject area skills.” - NU Strategy 2012-20

Our Students

Our program accepts only the best and brightest of Kazakhstan and outstanding international students. While most of our graduates do transition to undergraduate programs at NU, some also pursue educational opportunities abroad. All students, whether they choose to continue at NU or to accept the challenge of oversea studies, will find that the NUFYP program will have prepared them for wherever they choose.

Our Faculty

NUFYP faculty are highly qualified, exceptionally experienced educators in their fields. Their primary focus is student teaching and are devoted to student success.
